All about gel pens

Gel pens are super fun!! Not just because they are bright, colorful and provide amazing color to all types of artistic creations, but because they are different than ball pens, markers and other pens on the market.

So what really makes a gel pen different than other pens? Gel pens uses a water-based gel ink to create a smoother flow, they leave much stronger mark on the surface than any other pens that use ink. The ink flows out densely and evenly, with little pressure, exactly when you want it to.

Artists and architects especially love gel pens because they are available in hordes of colors. Gel pens facilitate smooth writing and drawing and its tip doesn’t wear down. Because the ink is smooth flowing and does not bleed through,  gel pens are perfect to use for adult coloring, doodling, journaling, greeting cards, arts & crafts, drawing, writing, sketching, scrapbooking, and so much more! .

Gel pens don’t ask much for maintenance. They must be always capped when not in use because ink tend to dry quickly. They can be stored in any position but they should not be doped because that can create “bubble of vacuum” in the pen known as “gel drop” and stop working.Gel pen can get jammed up with a bit of dried ink especially if the pen hasn’t been used in a while. Most of the time, this problem can easily fixed by scribbling on the paper to get the ball in the tip rolling again. Wiping the tip with a damp paper towel will also often do the trick. Once you get the ink flowing, you’ll be back to your project in no time!
